Chiropractors work with your body's "total neuro-musculo-skeletal system" which controls your nerves, muscles and bones. Because the body's various systems depend on one another to function properly, the neuro-musculo-skeletal system plays a primary role in your health. Chiropractors use their hands to administer specific manual adjustments to joints that are fixated or not moving well. These adjustments are safe, painless, and positively affect the nervous system, muscles and immune system. Chiropractic is the third-largest primary healthcare profession in Canada, covered by most Extended Health Plans and in some cases a portion is covered by MSP. We also accept RCMP, DVA, ICBC and WorkSafe claims and are able to direct bill them in most cases for Chiropractic treatment.

The process to collect PRP first involves taking a blood sample from the patient. That blood is then put into a centrifuge; a machine that spins the blood to separate it into its various components. Once out of the centrifuge, the practitioner is then able to collect the platelet-rich plasma to prepare it for injection into the injured area of the patient, which could be soft tissue, a ligament or bone. PRP can be used for both medical therapeutic and aesthetic purposes.
All Performance Integrated Health PRP patients are assessed and treated under the care of our licensed Naturopathic Physicians, Dr. Kathrine Tavakoli ND and Dr. Vinnie Dhillon.

Seven years ago, beginning his career as a Registered Massage Therapist, a mentor told Thomas,

“Thomas, you’re not the right massage therapist for everybody.”

These words have stuck with Thomas since that day, and have helped to shape Thomas into the Massage Therapist he is today. Thomas’ goal is to encourage and facilitate healing, physical development and musculoskeletal improvement. Some of the techniques Thomas uses can be uncomfortable, but pain is never the goal. Thomas’ hope is always that you’ll leave an appointment feeling better than when you came in. As a big advocate of 10-15 minutes of self-care every day, he believes that to be more valuable than what he can offer in a 60 minute treatment.

With that being said, he will work together with his patients to find a path to recovery, health and fitness that works for each individual in conjunction with his treatment.

As a Naturopathic physician dedicated to the principles of naturopathic medicine, Dr. Dhillon strongly believes that medicine as a whole should concern itself with more than just a patient’s illness. He prefers a holistic approach that investigates why a patient’s health is deteriorating by looking for, identifying and treating the underlying causes of the illness, and not just the presenting symptoms.

Dr. Dhillon, strives to create an individualized treatment plan that utilizes the body’s self healing power and improves patient health because every person is unique. His aim is to enable patients to actively participate in their health decisions and empower them to take control of their own health.

As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Dhillon treats a variety of health issues and give each patient his undivided attention. His areas of interest include treating fatigue, gastrointestinal conditions, allergies, skin conditions, auto-immune conditions, detoxification and pain management. Current treatments offered are herbal medicine, vitamins and minerals, ayurvedic medicine, homeopathy, diet and lifestyle counseling, musculoskeletal medicine such as Bowen Therapy, and Prolo Therapy.

Dr. Dhillon is an avid hockey fan (he is Canadian after all!!) and for several years he trained in Martial Arts at a reputed academy in White Rock, British Columbia.

He enjoys good food (especially if it’s healthy) and loves to spend time with his family and friends. He also enjoys volunteering in the community at the surrey hospice, children’s activities, and the elderly. He experienced Rotary’s Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) program, and learned a great deal about leadership, motivation, and communication.

Dr. Dhillon agrees that conventional medicine has effective treatments for serious acute diseases, however, the majority of health care issues are actually slow, insidious and manifest in the form of chronic diseases.

He encourages patients to not blindly follow the misconception that drugs and surgery are the only choice for them. Methods of disease treatment by conventional medicine may be ineffective with high risk and unwanted side effects. Dr. Dhillon hopes patients consider the naturopathic approach and take control of thier health.

Dr. Jheeta is an expert in preventative health care, wellness, and anti-aging. In his spare time he provides health care tips through appearances on Television and Radio, and articles in local newspapers.

✔ International Lecturer for the College of Physicians and Surgeons for British Columbia, regarding Naturopathic Medicine

✔ Appeared on numerous TV Talk shows

✔ Physician to Pro Athletes and TV personalities

✔ Expert in Preventative health

He holds a degree in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. He was an undergraduate in biology and botany at the University of British Columbia, from 1979 through 1983. Dr. Jheeta is a member of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia, and a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association.

Dr. Jheeta began his journey almost 30 years ago. As a student at the University of British Columbia he was directing his energy towards becoming a Pharmacist. He soon understood the limitations of this traditional form of health care, and that the primary goal in allopathic medicine was to manage and treat the signs and symptoms of illness. Very rarely was the underlying cause of the disease process addressed. He also noticed that the existing health care system was very effective at treating sudden and acute health crises and that many health care issues were slow and insidious. After concluding that the traditional health care system was failing dismally in the adequate treatment of chronic health concerns, he soon became disillusioned.

In the early 1980’s preventative medicine was almost a lost art. Traditional medical philosophy had literally brainwashed the majority of people into becoming a “pill popping “society, and dependent on the system.

The very definition of the Doctor as the teacher, and the patient as a student had all but been erased! We were no longer responsible for our own health. Frustrated, Dr. Jheeta began to search for answers.

A notable influence at that time - Dr. Jheeta met a chiropractor and was intrigued with the underlying philosophy of chiropractic medicine. The idea of removing the obstructions in the path of health, and the body would heal itself was a revelation - simple yet profound! Further searching led Dr. Jheeta to discover the National college of Naturopathic Medicine. Over the next 4 years he would learn to use the natural medicines of the earth, and how to teach his patients to understand their bodies. The goal was to provide the body, mind and spirit the tools necessary to heal.

More recently Dr. Jheeta has been an international lecturer recognized by the College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada and the United States. He has given numerous lectures on the subjects of preventative medicine, (heart disease, cancer, arthritis) drug induced nutrient depletion, prescription drug and herbal medicine interactions, and anti-aging breakthroughs through nutraceutical medicines.

Hi everyone!

My name is Aman Virk! I’ve been a part of healthcare for the last 10 years starting off as a personal trainer at Steve Nash Fitness World. While being a trainer I completed an additional yoga instructor course mainly just to acquire extra knowledge. Afterward, I decided to extend my experience in healthcare and have been working as a Physiotherapist Assistant in two long-term care facilities over the course of 5 years. In these facilities, I worked with patients needing rehabilitation exercise to get back to day to day activities or simply maintaining physical form as much as they can. As a Physiotherapist Assistant, I have worked with patients with dementia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and strokes just to name a few.

As a graduate of the CDI College Registered Massage Therapy Program, I like to focus my treatments on severe neck pain as well as low back and sciatic pain.
